About Camille

How I Got Here

I arrived here through a path that has been anything but linear.

Over the years, I have worked in government, public service, community engagement, leadership, facilitation, risk analysis, and trauma-informed practice. I have served as a paralegal within the federal justice system, worked in provincial politics, led corporate responsibility initiatives, facilitated learning and assessment processes across Alberta, and supported individuals navigating change and transformation.

Alongside my professional work, I completed both an undergraduate degree and a master's degree while raising children and navigating significant personal challenges. My life has included experiences of rebuilding, reinvention, and learning how to find solid ground in places where certainty was often unavailable.

These experiences continue to shape how I approach both life and work. They taught me that resilience is not about becoming invulnerable. It is about developing the capacity to remain connected to ourselves, our values, and one another through uncertainty, change, and adversity.

What Influences My Thinking

My graduate research focused on the role of fear in oppression and discrimination.

Through an interdisciplinary lens, I explored how fear operates across biological, psychological, social, and cultural systems and how it shapes individual and collective behaviour. That work deepened my understanding of the forces that influence human relationships, power, belonging, conflict, and change.

Today, my thinking continues to be informed by a blend of scholarship, lived experience, facilitation, somatics, trauma-informed practice, systems thinking, and risk analysis.

I am particularly interested in questions such as:

  • How do people reclaim agency after experiences that diminished it?

  • How do relationships shape who we become?

  • How do communities and organizations create conditions for resilience?

  • How do fear, uncertainty, and complexity influence decision-making?

  • What helps people remain connected to themselves in times of change?

These questions continue to guide both my professional work and personal exploration.

My Approach

I believe meaningful change happens when we move beyond surface-level solutions and begin exploring the deeper patterns, relationships, assumptions, and systems influencing our lives.

My approach combines curiosity, critical thinking, embodied awareness, and compassion. Rather than offering a single roadmap, I draw from multiple perspectives and disciplines to support reflection, resilience, learning, and growth.

I am less interested in fixing people than in creating the conditions for greater understanding, capacity, and possibility.

Whether working with individuals, groups, or organizations, I approach the work with humility, respect for lived experience, and a deep belief in human potential.
